Can I use Boveda for pipe tobacco?
Yes. The moisture level of pipe tobacco depends on your smoking preference. We recommend starting with a Boveda 75% RH Size 8 pack.
The optimal moisture for pipe tobacco is subjective. The leaf should feel slightly firm, not wet or crackly/brittle when pinched.
Start by taking a pinch of pipe tobacco and storing it for a few days with a Boveda 75% RH Size 8 pack. After a few days, smoke the tobacco.
If you'd prefer pipe tobacco at a lower relative humidity (RH), Boveda is also available in 72% RH, 69% RH, 65% RH , and 49% RH. Use one Size 8 Boveda with 1 to 2 oz. of pipe tobacco.
