Can I recharge Boveda?

No, you should never attempt to recharge or rehydrate used Boveda packs.

Boveda packets are single-use, 2-way humidity control products designed to be replaced with new packs every three (3) months to ensure continuous, precise cigar protection.

RISKS OF RECHARGING USED BOVEDA PACKS: 

  • Loss of Relative Humidity Precision: Rehydrated packs can no longer maintain accurate RH target levels inside your humidor.
  • Mold & Damage Hazard: Inconsistent moisture regulation increases the risk of mold growth or extreme humidity spikes that can ruin cigars.
  • Risk of Leaks & Punctures: Rehydration causes sharp, crystallized salt residue to form internally, which can penetrate the vapor-permeable membrane and cause liquid salt leaks.
