How do I season my guitar/instrument case?

Use three (3) Boveda 72% RH Size 60 packets in Boveda Holders.  Drape one holder over the sound hole and nestle the other by the headstock.  Keep the case closed for two (2) weeks with the guitar inside. 

Most guitar cases are made of twice as much wood as the actual guitars they hold. For best results, we recommend seasoning a guitar case before using Boveda with your wooden instrument.

After seasoning, use a Boveda Starter Kit  to balance humidity throughout your instrument case

ALWAYS insert Boveda packs into a Boveda Holder before using in your instrument case.

SEASONING A GUITAR/INSTRUMENT CASE WITH BOVEDA:

  1. Insert three (3) Boveda Size 60 72% RH into two (2) Boveda Holders.
  2. Drape one holder over the strings into the sound hole.
  3. Nestle the other holder near the headstock and fretboard.
  4. Shut the lid and keep it closed for two (2) weeks with your guitar inside.
  5. Remove the Boveda 72% RH and discard them. 
  6. For ongoing humidity protection, use Boveda 49% RH in the Boveda Holders.
  7. Position by the headstock, under the neck, or near the instrument body inside the main case cavity.
  8. Keep the case closed whether your guitar is in there or not.

DO NOT mix different Boveda RH levels including Boveda B49HA within the same instrument case.

DO NOT use other humidification products with Boveda in the same case because they'll fight against each other and reduce the efficiency of Boveda.
