What Boveda RH do I need for cigars?

For most environments and first-time buyers, Boveda recommends 69% RH for cigar storage. Additionally, Boveda makes specialty solutions to manage humidity challenges.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT BOVEDA RH FOR YOUR CIGARS
65% RH

FOR A DRIER CIGAR PROFILE

For those who prefer a drier cigar
profile and/or easier burn; good
for long-term aging

69% RH
FOR ALL CIGAR STORAGE

For wood and acrylic humidors, tupperdors,
coolerdors, and humidor bags; good
for long-term aging
72% RH
FOR DRAFTY HUMIDORS AND DRY ENVIRONMENTS
For those who prefer cigars with a higher
moisture profile and/or have trouble
maintaining the desired RH in their humidor
75% RH
FOR EXTREMELY DRY CONDITIONS

For high altitudes, desert environments, etc. Do not use 75% RH in airtight containers, like tupperdors and humidor bags

84% RH FOR SEASONING WOOD HUMIDORS ONLY

For seasoning a new wood humidor before you add cigars or re-seasoning an empty wood humidor

Boveda maintains inside relative humidity (RH) of +/-2% when using the recommended number of packets. Factors that adversely affect the expected results include a drafty humidor and/or extreme dry ambient conditions.

  • DO NOT mix different RH (Relative Humidity) levels within the same humidor.
  • DO NOT use Boveda in the same humidor with other humidification products because they’ll counteract each other, and reduce the efficiency of the Boveda.
